Spent a lot of time at that Irish pub back in the day. A lot of assholes around there for sure.

I used to drink at The Forum by that arcade place. That area needed a venue badly.

Yeah thats the place. They had a star wars game there that was like 3 dollars to play but I went high once and it blew up my world for a while. It has a big cockpit thing and it was awesome.

KingBob out hearing dropping the truth on all you boomer Dad rock cargo shirt wearers.

So many brain dead, 40 IQ takes.

The high school kids now are Zoomers not millennials. Also, tastes change and evolve over time. No one listens to Mozart and Bach anymore yet no one is crying about it.

There is tons of great music being made today.

Do current LSU students even read TD anymore?

I remember tons of people with TD up on their laptops in class circa 2008 - 2012 when I was in school.

Uhh the sorority sloots loved Journey and Bon Jovi in the early 2000's

Both those bands are among the exception not the rule. They managed to stay quite relevant for decades. Most mainstream music is more current music.

Is it really that difficult to understand and acknowledge that tastes change and evolve over time?

No one wears powdered wigs or top hats anymore and no one is bothered by it.

For some weird reason the boomers here are triggered as frick that kids these days don’t like their dad rock. It’s frickin hilarious tbh.

Not really. Why would they want to post on the same message board as a bunch of middle aged creepers, or worse, their parents?

Because rock takes actual skill. Drums, guitar, keyboard, etc. I like some rap, but the new gen of rap is crap. They all sound alike. New country is abysmal.

Yet another brain dead take from the old heads on this board.

It takes talent and skill and understanding of composition to make beats and rhymes.

Even if you don’t like it doesn’t make it less true.

I enjoy clowning the teeny and young 20’s music. It’s absolute trash. Music is way too commercialized and only focused on sex appeal. At least 20 years ago it was also focused on talent.

Read the thread Einstein. We're taking about millennials in their 30's. Not zoomers or high school students.

No one can explain why dad-bod millennials can't rock anything but bro country or mumble rap, especially when these same people did NOT grow up with that music.

Eta. I'm a millennial so I'm speaking about my own brethren

Everyone thinks rap is easy to do until they try and fail. It’s not easy, unless you’re just naturally gifted like me

30 years ago, maybe, but 20 years ago, pop music was boy bands, Brittney Spears, and Christina Aguilara. Focused on talent, not sex, my arse

We're fighting the good fight brother. My under 10 kids are on a heavy dose of Pink Floyd, Tears for Fears, Van Halen, The Who, etc. They love it. Their friends at school must be like "wtf"
