Well, last year as I was on the transplant waiting list, I got a call after we had just got back from midnight Mass on Christmas eve/Christmas day that they had a liver. Hours and a trip to the hospital later and it was determined that the liver was not of sufficient quality to transplant. What a present, right?
Nah, just kidding. That did happen but it wasn't a bad gift at all. Ended up getting a liver in February and that Christmas call was just a part of the best gift I ever got.

All I ever got from my grandparents was a bag of fruit for Xmas. I got a $6 flashlight from my SIL, I never did the gift exchange thing again with the family.

I got a thick cotton pull over shirt. I think it came from K-Mart or Wallmarks..But the real bad thing I think it was used..I found a food stain on it..so my dog is enjoying it as part of his bedding.

My aunt gave me a box of 5 little dinosaur shaped soaps. Like, lower than dollar store brand. I was 6 or 7 at the time and thought it was a shitty gift as soon as I opened it. Then, to top it off, the soap melted into nothing after 1 bath.

When my wife and I got married we went to visit her grandparents around Christmas and all of her cousins and extended family showed up with gifts for everyone. We didn't bring any because we had never done gifts with these people. So they hand out a gift to everyone and we all open together at once. I got a can of cashews. There is no excited face for cashews. I looked at my wife and said why the frick did they give me cashews. I really think they took it out of the pantry last minute and wrapped it so I'd have something to open.
