Drove through it on the 80 and it was one of the least scenic and boring stretches I have ever driven

Things get slightly better on I-80 at Salt Lake City then you're fricked again until you pass Reno. That has to be the worst Interstate in the country for scenery.

I haven’t been to a lot of western states so idk. Only California, Arizona, NM, and Nevada.

Southeast TX is absolutely the worst. South central Louisiana blows arse. NW Louisiana is the best part of the state.

What I've seen of North Dakota was pretty ugly
It doesn’t get much love around here but the Badlands of ND are more impressive than Badlands of South Dakota in my opinion. This photo was taken just a few miles from Teddy Roosevelt’s ranch along the Little Missouri River.

Out of the 45 states that I’ve visited I’d say that Iowa was the least scenic.

Nevada

I drove Highway 50 through Nevada once. Whole lot of nothing in the middle of that state. It's called "The Loneliest Road in America" for good reason. Finally made it into Utah and got caught in a blizzard from Delta all the way to Glenwood Springs, CO. Hours of white knuckling.

There may not be anything other than mines and a few scatered towns but some parts of HWY 50 are absolutely breathtaking, plus it takes you pretty close to Great Basin National Park. I don’t think I’ll forget that road for as long as I live.

Mississippi sucks for a thousand different reasons, but scenery isn't one of them.

Texas basically sucks for 978 continuous miles of I-10.

Lucky for you, there’s more to Texas than I-10.

It's no different, guy. 45N is awful. 35S leads to murderland central. I20 leads you back to I-10 or Shreveport and 35N sticks you into Oklahoma. Oklahoma, Oklahoma, Oklahoma.

For me:

Ugliest are Oklahoma, Kansas, maybe Nebraska. For some people, the plains are nice, but I need something in addition to that.

Scenic are Colorado (Denver to Grand Junction is a spectacular drive), Washington, maybe Arizona.

Monterey peninsula/Pebble Beach
Death Valley
Santa Barbara
