Pennsylvania in the fall.

That's pretty but you can see fall colors like that in Alabama.

Anybody who says Kansas has never driven I-35 through the Flint Hills between March-October. November-March I would say yes, this state can be quite depressing, but this is not an accurate statement outside of those months.

Oklahoma is pretty bad except for the eastern portion of the state. Iowa is desolate as hell. Drove from Dubuque to Wichita once. That 8 hour drive felt like 18. It was also in the dead of winter.

This is true, I have not done that.

But honestly there’s something nice in every single state to be pointed out, so while I’m sure The Flint Hills are very nice, I’d still put Kansas in the conversation as a whole State.

Central Illinois is pretty boring but Southern Illinois (south of I-64) isn’t bad.

Even though California is a beautiful state, it has it's ugly, barren not very scenic side too...namely the Mojave Desert from Victorville north to Baker and Mojave to the Arizona state line.

Probably the most scenic state I've been stationed in was Colorado. The western side of the state is beautiful and very scenic.

Nebraska is the ugliest state I've been to. It's flat enough to be as boring as Kansas but they have really ugly trees that all look stunted.

Took a road trip around 2000 and went through AR, MO, IA, SD, WY, NE, KS, OK.

Nebraska was by far the ugliest.

I imagine Kansas can be more boring and ugly but the parts I drove through weren't.

Ugliest/plainest: Indiana, unfortunately my Home state Louisiana is not far behind. Most scenic: Oregon!
