What's the REAL issue behind the labor shortages we are seeing?

I know a lot of it has to do with the government being too generous with handouts but is that really all there is to it?
This morning... I go to my gym, open a locker and there is a job application inside. They put applications in all the lockers in the locker room.
Then afterward I go on a morning run around suburban Fort Worth and every single business establishment whether it be a fast food restaurant, oil change place, plant nursery, day care, pet grooming, even an adult shop had now hiring signs and banners. Now hiring signs as plenty as blades of grass.
What's the real issue going on? I know government handouts has a lot to do with it but that can't be 100% of the deal. Are people being evicted yet?
Something isn't adding up.

Saw a Wendy's the other day outside of Golden and they are offering $500 bonus to sign up. Wendy's sir.

If you could get paid more to stay home and do nothing, wouldn't you do it?
Just another step towards our socialist paradise!

A person with 3 kids made $6500 per stimmy check. That's $19,500 given to someone on minimum wage who only makes $20,000 per year on their part time job..........

In GA - you were getting paid $19/hr to NOT work and didnt have to pay rent....then got some bonus every few months...
WHY would i go work for $20/hr

Is this still going on though? The type of people who would receive this money aren't exactly the type of people who will put it in the bank and live off of it, they are going to spend it all on a bunch of shite they don't need.

But there hasn't been a stimulus check since January. There is the Child Tax Credit payment going out now, but $250 per kid isn't really keeping the lights on and food on the table. Maybe it is keeping a lot of these workers from having to work 2 jobs to makes ends meet though.

A significant % of Americans are fine living hand to mouth.

And since they weren't having to pay rent they got to keep a massive chunk of that. They can sit a few more months until it runs out and then they'll come back looking.

I'm with OP here, handout made sense months ago. But there's more to it now

This should be interesting...

Laziness and entitlement.
But truthfully, I don't even blame the idiots collecting that shite. At this point it's the government's fault for creating and perpetuating this culture, and refusing to get rid of it. Why would people work when they make better money sitting at home?

Taco Bell on Claiborne in NOLA is paying $15/hour starting out

Is this still going on though?
I'm currently getting $750 per month until the end of the year because I have custody of my three children.
EDIT: It will be deducted from my tax credits next year though.

Did you fill out one of those applications? No.
Why not? Because those jobs suck.

why work when uncle joe keeps giving me everything for free?
Posted on 9/27/21 at 10:46 am to tgrbaitn08
The Wendy's I ran by this morning had a sign saying $11 to $18 per hour plus a $500 sign on bonus
Another thing is you have Waffle Houses that aren't even open 24 hours. The one near me is only open 7am to 3pm because they can't find workers. This is Waffle House we are talking about, which never closes.
Same with a few Whataburgers and Jack in the Boxes around, no longer open 24 hours.
I guess my question is how are people who would normally fill these positions getting by. No way the spigot of government money is still turned on for them, right? And are landlords evicting people yet?
