Wife had an older set back when they actually had wooden handles. The ones now are plastic. She asked a Cutco rep if she sent in a knife for replacement under warranty if they would send another wood one and they said no.

I've always used Rada Stainless Steel knives and loved them.

Great knives with lifetime guarantee and lifetime free sharpening. They are also American made. I don’t see how any other knife can beat that.

I have a few cutco knives, I called them to have someone come to my house to sharpen them. Dude wanted to sale me more knives while he sharpened them. I politely told him or asked him to just sharpen the knives. I think the shears were like $70.

Their direct marketing isn’t much different than whole life insurance salesmen or many financial advisor businesses.

At least the buyers of the Cutco knives generally like what they’be purchased. Not sure I can say the same for the other two...

Excellent.

Have had them for years - both for cutting / chopping and the steak knives.

You will not go wrong.

I have a set of Cutco and like them. Have had them sharpened once, for price of shipping. About to have them sharpened again. I prefer them for cutting meat, because they are serrated.

I even more highly recommend their vegetable peeler and pizza cutter. I have never used better.

For cutting vegetables, I prefer the Henckel. Extremely sharp, but smooth blade.

For any good knives, don't use them with a too hard board (no glass!) no dishwasher.

I worked at a butcher shop and all we had was dexter sani safe. Pretty sure theyre cheaper than anything a door to door subdivision chick is selling and probably better.

How long did you go between having your Cutco knives sharpened?

Longer than when this thread was started, apparently!
