Steamboat springs, CO…during the summer. If you like the outdoors, you’ll love it.

All seriousness...
Santa Fe, NM and just the entire state of NM.
You know how most people in Louisiana say the food sucks outside Louisiana when they travel? Not in New Mexico. They have amazing food. Plus all the shite to do there, from White Sands, Carlsbad Caverns, Route 66, the high desert, to even scuba diving. Yes, scuba diving. There’s a place on Route 66 called the Big Blue Hole (or something like that), in Santa Rosa. It’s a 80’ deep cavern. The water stays 65 deg year round.
Plus there is Santa Fe, one of the most beautiful cities in the US.

Nah, this place is terrible and should never be visited by anyone.

I grew up skiing in Red River and just about moved to NM instead of NC. It’s a criminally underrated state for sure.

Won't win any best of but for us it was Tahoe. It has a lot from the water to the hikes to the beauty and luxury if you want it.

Hollybeach
If you financial situation doesn't allow for Hollybeach, there's always Follybeach on the volcanic sand shores of beautiful Lake D'arbonne, located in quaint Farmerville, Louisiana.

Ive been to East Rosebud Lake in Roscoe Montana a couple times. Its a tiny cabin community in the Beartooth mountains. I paddled out on the lake, surrounded by mountains, caught Brown, Cutthroat, Rainbow, and Brook trout while bald eagles soared overhead. The purest stock of wild golden trout can be found on top of a mountain at East Rosebud Lake. A mother and baby moose camped out outside our cabin. I hiked up some of the many trails in the area and fished glacial lakes. Drove over the Beartooth Pass and then through Yellowstone. Even went back and hiked "The Beaten Path" which was pretty glorious.
