Five Guys has a really good burger but they are definitely overpriced.

Never really tried Checkers much. Seemed like a decent burger and all. I like the Whataburger Patty Melt, wife says the burgers are Sonic at best.

I think Subway is fine regardless of the dog food they serve, don’t they have the most locations world wide?

Subways are much cheaper to open and operate than mcdonalds, burger king etc

And they only require 2-3 employees at a time.

I drive by the same Jack in the Box every day and the parking lot and drive thru are empty 90% of the time

I guess they only make money on stoners overnight

Does Duncan Donuts count? Shitty donuts not made on site. Coffee is not seen as a “treat” like Starbucks for most patrons, and not a gathering place like Starbucks/other coffee shops. Duncan in Boston will never close, but I see a contraction outside of their New England home base.

have no data, but I imagine Subway has to be hurting. Awful ingredients and much better competitors

Subway has sucked for a very long time. I'm actually impressed that they haven't gone completely out of business

Del Taco is pretty dogshit, same for Carl’s Jr

Both are disgusting. I’ll add:

Fazoli’s
Einstein Bros
A&W
Jack in the Box

Not getting the Del Taco hate, either. They blow Taco Bell out of the water.

Probably just a bad experience and I never went back. Fries tasted like reheated Cane’s fries.

pains me to say this due to my aversion to chains and fast food but 5 guys is my favorite burger in Hammond. That might just be a reflection of my town but it’s a damn good satisfying burger

Used to live next to a guy that had 4 or 5 Subway franchises. He said overhead on them is crazy cheap, and Subway corporate was very hands off. He seemed to do really well financially, but then his fat wife stepped out on him and he moved.
