But they have been that way for over a decade. Bad food and service make them a last resort for most and they seem to have reached equilibrium.

I actually ate BK today and it was the best whopper I’ve had in a long time. Got my food in under 2 minutes, it was piping hot and fresh. I was shocked

The only thing I tried at Checkers is the bacon burger and it’s good along with those seasoned fries

Met with execs from Subway a few years ago about some national marketing. They knew the “healthy” ship had sailed. Had to totally switch their demographic to stop bleeding.

Current advertising locations show that effort.

They had over 40,000 stores! Crazy.

Still closing more than opening.

The BKs in central MS are in rough shape, with few customers and much worse slower service than even Micky Ds.

In BR a regular cheeseburger is $9.59. No fries or drink or anything else. It's a $16-20 meal with that. Granted it's a lot of food.

Has 300 locations they don’t expand outside a 300 mile radius in order to keep their products fresh. Grandparents used to love that place

The sad thing is, I would much rather a Burger King whopper or double cheeseburger over a McDonald’s quarter pounder/double cheeseburger. Burger King service is honestly below Popeyes these days. And the store physical plant hasn’t been updated in 30 years.

I know a dude who used to deliver bread and he told me there are several BK locations, including the one closest to me that if you would go in the kitchen you would never eat there again...

Back when I was in high school I knew a couple of people who worked in our local Burger King. They mentioned that the burger patties cooked on some type of conveyor belt/grill over the flame and then dropped into a pan at the end.

If nobody cleared the pan regularly the patties would start to pile up and would overflow on to the floor.

They would just pick them up and put them back in the pan or use them on the next order.

Not sure if they were full of shite but I never ate another Burger King after hearing that.

what pisses me off about Burger King is that if you can find one where the staff cleans the place and gives a shite about their food, it's one of the better "cheap" burgers.

Oh it’s Five Guys. Those look like pre Covid prices, here’s a snip of their site for an order:

Add in $2.50 for an extra patty (since their patties are on the thin side) on the cheeseburger, with tax just north of $14
