Sounds more like the boy's raiding the old man's wallet!

1977, LSU beats Rice 77-0, Carlos Carson catches a gazillion(5) Steve Ensminger TD passes..
I and my chums worked the games as kids, fetching ice, and running Cokes to rich old fat men needing more to mix with their flasks of Bourbon and Whiskey..
I look down at the ground in a portal entry at Halftime, a gangster roll of mostly Andrew Jacksons(like $315ish total), plus made about $125 on a raucous celebratory crowd of tips plus concession pay..
$450ish was a lotta 1977 loot for an 11 yr old kid. Spencers, Record Bar, & Space Port at Cortana got their fair share of it.

Not on the ground, but I just got $1300 auto deposited by a client a couple days ago that was essentially “found money” since it was for an invoice that had already been paid by one of their vendors. I sent them the invoice, they passed it along to the party that caused the issue that I had to fix causing the $1300 charge, then they both paid it.
I let them know they double paid me (because I’m not a thief) and they said the vendor’s check was for materials and their check was for labor, which makes no sense.

When I was a bouncer at a club in Ft Walton Beach years ago I was checking the bathrooms after closing one morning and there was a roll of cash w/rubber band around it and a open baggie of cocaine on the toilet paper holder on the wall. $2600 ,flushed the drugs, pocketed the cash

This wasn't exactly "found'. Had a friend get notified by the state that he had the state had money in some "unclaimed" money fund. He said they were mistaken etc. Well, after the third call and them verifying his SS number with him, he told them to mail the check. He gets it...over $60,000. He calls me. My advice was to not cash it and wait see what the mistake was. He waited and no call. In the mean time, with a lot of phone calls, he finds it was from some oil company for oil royalities. Well, he just sold a little land, and maybe one of his neighbors was pumping out a lot of oil and the oil company was sending him his share? Or maybe his uncle that had died the previous year and was in the oil business had secretly willed it to him? He cashes the check and saves the money. Two years later some attorney calls and tells him it was a mistake.....something about land ownership screwup. Bottom line..he kept the money with no further argument.

Pulled up to a gas station late one night and saw a bill folded twice. Walked by without braking stride, picked it up and put it in my pocket. I was the only person there besides a cashier. Wasn’t going to leave it with them and no one showed up looking for it while I was there. Left the station, checked it out and it was a $100 bill.

Walking back to truck from a local fair , found a hundred. A few steps later found a twenty. A few steps later found four ones. I was 15 years old.

I found a 20 dollar bill just laying on the street when I was 7 or 8 years old. It seemed like an insane amount of money at the time.
I felt guilty about it and worried the police would arrest me. When I realized that wasn't going to happen then I thought it would be cool to use it to buy my own house.
