Lost about 2k at Larry Flynts. I swear I just stopped in for a minute to get my friend out of there and bam! Five hours later I couldn’t find where I put that cash.

*Did not want to look in the obvious spaces.

$800

I went to pick up a doghouse for my girlfriend and apparently when I was squatting down to pick up the doghouse and carry it to the car my wallet fell out.

Sickening feeling when I got home.

20 seconds.

Next day I found a guys wallet and returned it.

He gave me 300.

It's in the cabinet above your fridge.

My wife, no pics, threw a check for $147,000 in the trash a few years ago. It was the proceeds from a stock sale.

The trash can was on the tree lawn awaiting pick up when I noticed it was not where I placed it. She had fun digging through the trash that night, but eventually found it.

I did give her a pair of latex gloves so she didn't get too dirty.

Exactly. Whoever stole it was either an employee or on line. I set it somewhere and seconds later it was gone.

Now that's a nice chunk of change. But as long as it hadn't been cashed. you would have been able to cancel that one and get another one right? That would make me sick to my stomach.

Most I have lost as in where the hell did it physically go was $500.

It was a $500 casino chip. I cashed out 5k at a table, 10 $500 chips. Just dropped them in my pocket. About 30 minutes later cashed out at the cash cage and only had 9. Dropped one somewhere, no idea where.

Not me but my folks in their last say 15 years would cash their dividend checks and hide the cash in the house.

In books, magazines under drawers, in the attic, back side of cabinets. Dads workshop in nail bottles with 5 hundies.

We sold the house and Ive wondered how much the buyers found that we didnt.............

It was a real cash cow search affter they passed

Sad but fun

I'd bet that $400 it was an employee.

This reminds me of something that happened years ago. Long story short, me and a friend of mine went meet his boss at Popeye's for breakfast (obviously before they stopped serving it). Before we left, his boss went to the bathroom. We were on the other side from where we sat, but when his boss came out he forgot his cellphone at the table. He went to the table and it wasn't there. He was friends with the guy who owned that location and he dialed to see if they could hear the phone, before he started digging in the garbage, thinking he accidentally put it on his tray. Phone started ringing. It was coming from one of his employees pocket. He held his hand out for the guy to give him the phone then told him to go home and never come back..

I’ve never lost any significant amount of money thankfully. About two months ago I found a wallet in the BR Marriott parking lot that had $1890 in cash and 2 bank cards and 3-4 credit cards. Dude had all kinds of identification/certification cards. I found him on Facebook and contacted him. He was from New Orleans. He couldn’t believe someone found and returned his wallet with everything in it.

I went out one night in Los Angeles and woke up a couple of days later in Las Vegas with roughly $6.5K less than I had.

Does that count?

Four Hundred dollars. I stuck it in my shoe while walking in a bad part of Philadelphia. When I got back to the hotel it had worked its way out. End of story but after 20 years it still lights up my memory.
