$40 a sack about 15 years ago, and the sack was a true 40 lbs., not this 35 lb. they're pushing today.

I am 46. My dad use to crawfish for a living back then and in the 90's a sac was 30 lbs that means big crawfish. were 25 bucks a sac. the fisherman would get only 40 to 50 cents per pound back then.

same for me, right about .50 live

there used to be school kids hustling to earn money that i would buy 35lbs sacks from for $15. i used to get a sack every week to peel and freeze them. half i would eat on the spot with my dad.

saw a new sign yesterday for $2.00 live, give it another week and that will be down to $1.50 most likely.

i only buy already boiled now for years and if and only when its $1.99 boiled or i just dont get them. to me thats all they are worth or i dont need to buy them. lots of other food to eat

This is what they should be now

Back in the 80's I remember $0.29/lb by the end of the season, which was basically end of April if the temps stayed low. Not this June crap they pull these days.

I use to buy crawfish from a BAW that would hustle the crawfish Tony's rejected for having too many white crawfish. Sacks would be 40+ pounds for $15, the white ones eat just like the regular ones...
