Have any kids under 5?
If not, just wait. It gets worse.

I wouldn't. There's enough stress in a full days work already. I'd hate to not have the rest time away from the stresses of life.

Older I get the less sleep I get. Averaging 4-5 hours currently.

How is this possible? This would psychologically wreck me. The difference in my attitude, energy, everything from an 8 hour night's rest vs 5 is night and day (no pun intended).

Well I thought my snowflake arse was bad. Have slept bad this whole week.

I've gone about 3 days not sleeping pretty much at all before. After that long it feels like you're tripping on acid. I find that as long as I get at least 6 hours, I'm good. Try and take some melatonin vitamins though. They've helped me out big time.

I stayed awake for 70 hours straight my senior year in engineering.
I just kept taking adderall and studying for exams.
All of my body was inflamed. My skin looked different, my eyes looked crazy. I slept for close to 20 hours when I was done with everything, and I remember looking and feeling like a new person when I awoke.
After awhile you aren't sleepy anymore. As long as you keep your mind occupied. It's almost like you have a buzz. It's very strange. I remember feeling like I was worthless to anything that didn't involve the material I was studying for. It was difficult to answer simple questions that didn't pertain to my studying.

Going on 7 years. I occasionally sleep more than 5 and 1/2 hours, if I get pretty drunk.

Twice that I can think of right off hand. In my early 20s when I worked as a residential counselor pulling double shifts throughout the week. For about 6 months I was going on 4-5 hours. The second time was working in a persistently low-achieving school working one on one with truancy students. Went for about two years on 4-5 hours in my late 20s.
The second time was harder than the first. It'd be rough to try to do it now.

I haven't slept 5 hours in a night since my daughter was born in January. I really don't feel bad waking up unless I had a few beers the day before. Worth It

I am lucky if I can sleep for 2 hours straight without waking up to take a piss. I go back to sleep but within 2 hours I am up again to pee. Rinse and repeat. Getting old sucks.

I try but end up laying there a while. I even cut off screens and try reading in low level light for about an hour before sleep.
I've always been one to get at most 7 a night, but too many days of 5 or less is getting to me. I'm irritable and foggy all day long. I'm still able to exercise though so that's good.

5 hours or less for the past 10 years, except for last Saturday. That was the longest I've ever slept at 10hrs, and it was because I was up busting my arse non-stop for 33 hours straight before that. Stopped only to eat. And I gave a 30 minute long presentation at the 33hr mark, came home, and stayed up another 6 hours.
From 18-23, I only slept 3hrs a night.
It was/is not subpar sleep. You're just a baby

had insomnia that went untreated for awhile because no doctor wanted to prescribe a college kid sleep aides...which I kinda get. At it's worst I could sometimes go 3-4 nights without falling asleep...1-2 nights was my norm. My body felt like hell all the time and I began hallucinating. But sitting on the balcony part of the union and doing the reveille crossword puzzle while watching campus come to life each day was kinda nice..... so there was that

...and keep popping Adderall. I made it through college with no Adderall (which apparently I was missing out on making my life much easier). I survived on naps. Couldn't study tired. So I'd take hour to two hour naps, wake up and study late and then grab a few hours sleep. Take the test and then come home and do it again. Don't. Miss. That. shite.

Eight years. Up several times a night, every night, dealing with problems of a very ill spouse. Averaged about five hours. Driving home from work, I would fall asleep at red lights. Unrelentingly brutal.

Something like 9 or 10 years now.
