Over 70000 posts about what looks to be some insane conspiracy. Now, 2 threads discussing it have been removed. What's going on?

There is a thread on the Political Talk Board that promotes some pretty bizarre conspiracy theories. For some reason, some posters cannot help themselves from going in there and trying to rile up the participants, laughing at them and calling them names and such. There have been multiple threads on the Help Board begging for the thread to be deleted.
Admins protect the participants of the thread and whack shitposts pretty quickly. They even delete threads made about the Q thread, and apparently some people don't understand why. It seems pretty obvious they want people to be able to discus those topics in a thread and not be ridiculed, but they also don't want a bunch of other threads on the board about THAT thread.
