Is it an actual business or a front for some type of criminal enterprise?

Have you ever seen people shopping in there?

That is a 3 times a year topic here. Go to Youtube search "are mattress stores a front" and watch until you are sated.

I bought a mattress there years ago. I had to laugh because the sales guy said "this is an excellent unit" (referring to a Sealy mattress).
I had never heard anyone call a mattress a unit before that.

I bought a mattress at one in Dallas earlier this year. If it hadn’t been “70% off” I wouldn’t have gotten it. The “sale price” brought it into the universe of a reasonable price. No other customers came in while I was there.

Do they only sell firm mattresses? Or do they sell other levels of firmness?

And why do you care?

They picked up a ton of Blockbuster properties for pennies and their margins are stupid high. They don’t have to sell many to stay in the green.
