What's the current status of the New Orleans confederate monuments?

And what's going on with the prior locations? I assume there's nothing to replace them in the old locations, and the monuments are just rusting in some warehouse in NOLA East or something. Pretty much right?
Doesn't that sum up the vanity and emptiness at the heart of the movement to take them down? Thise statues were put up by people with pride in themselves and their heritage. The people who took them down don't stand for anything.
Hell is too good for a piece of shite like Mitch Landrieu.

They’re like gargoyles.
At night they come to life and shoot people in the French Quarter, and then frame young black guys.

Lee Circle is the only one that would make you think something existed there before.
The statues are an after thought. I doubt they decided to start rusting now after being outside for a century.
No one in the city gives half a frick about the statues or lack thereof.
The downvotes will come from suburbanites who left but still want to pretend their opinion matters. Keep coming back and giving your tax money to see the Zac Brown Band, boys.

They’re in Will Wade’s front yard.

This is what assholes like Mitch want, for people to just forget about them.

Once upon a time, New Orleans was more than a city for tourists to come laugh at and piss on. The people who lived in that New Orleans would have cared.

It’s odd how much you are still thinking about this.
Haven’t heard anyone in the city talking about it

Don’t tell that to the culcha & Austin, TX style hipsters & blue haired bottom feeders that live there now.

They moved on to bigger and better. They should get over New Orleans. But they cant.

Guarantee virtually no one that is still rustled by this has established residence in the parish. Mitch was an a-hole. He took down the statues. My streets are still fricked up.
Take down every fricking statue if you get the pothole on Tchoup and Toledano fixed forever.

It makes me sad, disgusted, and frustrated passing Lee Circle every morning. The amount of money wasted dividing the city on something stupid that no one even thought about when we have whole streets you can’t drive down because of potholes is what grinds my gears. The fact that it’s been over a year and the eyesore is still there makes it even worse.
As for as the other ones, honestly wouldn’t even know they weren’t here anymore.

I wish they would turn it into a european style city square (circle) like what was proposed. Give me a bulldozer and a team of concrete finshers and we will do it in 7 days.

It's not an election year so you don't hear about these things.
People haven't learned by now that politicians create these issues, usually through indirect groups, to get people worked up.
If there are not any issues that people are emotionally invested in then less people will go vote so both sides try to get people their people out to the polls.
