Tell your work place to write a letter saying you'll be out of town. Worked for me.

Pull the fire alarm.
Correction: only works if you are a Marxist legislator

Don't know if it was dumb luck or will work for next time, but be there right on time worked out for me last time. I got into the check in line a minute before the check in time. By the time I got to the front of the line they were starting to say they had enough for the day so stamped our letter and sent us home.
One time I did have a legit dumb luck situation but I had been there an hour or so. I was waiting in the room, checked in, and went to the bathroom. When I came out people were walking out with a smile on their faces and I asked someone what was going on. Apparently the balif came in and said "everyone on this half of the room can go home, and the rest stay"...so I just walked out with them since I had my letter stamped as being there.

I have been called 4x in 2 years in Fulton Co. It’s a fricking commute there to sit in a room full of my “peers.”
It sucks and I hate it.
I despise the jury system. My “peers” are uneducated morons, why would I prefer them over just a judge?

I was a sheriff's deputy when i got a summons. The case involved a defendant I arrested. I showed up in full uniform and was selected by number in the first round. Got rejected and permanently disqualified shortly thereafter.

The last time I was called, close to half were no shows. The judge just went on to the next name on the list.

Tell them that you have been exposed to covid.

The best one I ever saw was during questioning
Assistant DA: have you ever been arrested and tried for a crime?
Potential juror: yes sir. You should remember. You tried me for second degree murder two years ago and you lost.
In all honesty it’s a pain but I go when summoned. I’d like to believe that if I’m ever wrongly tried that someone with a brain would be on the jury. So I’m just looking out for the other guy when I go.

Tell then you would never vote guilty to charges brought by the government.

This is bullshite. Every time I was called, when someone who had been summoned got called up for questioning and was not there the judge would issue a warrant for their arrest. People who “just don’t show up” with no consequences, have just been lucky that their name was not called in court to go up for questioning. Everyone should serve on at least one jury to familiarize themselves with the process. I found it rather interesting.

For the most part, judges are just shills for the prosecution. Never rely on those F'ers.

You won’t do that.
And even if you do, the judge ought laugh and make sure you are picked.

I missed a jury date because I was out of town working. My son who checked the mail never noticed the envelope.
I only saw it in a stack of mail when I returned. Expecting what you described, I gathered my documentation and visited the Clerk of Court. The lady didn’t even want to see my documentation. She took my copy of the summons, threw it away and told me I would be summoned again.
Still haven’t been summoned or arrested and it’s been almost a year.

Keep a pair of girls panties in your pocket and occasionally smell them.

This is why we get such good juries making rational decisions..

Like I said below:

This was probably you. They don’t know if you showed or not until they call you to come up so the lawyers for both sides can question you. If they manage to seat a jury before your name is called, they don’t know that you didn’t show up. Still some “letter of the law” judges like to call roll of the summoned people to see who did/did not show. I saw judge Catherine Kimball send deputies out to find a woman who had been summoned but did not show. Deputies hauled her in about thirty minutes later with 4 small children in tow. When asked why she did not show she told the judge that she could not find a baby sitter for her 4 children. Judge told her “go find a baby sitter and be back within the hour. She did but the jury got seated before her name was called up for questioning.
