I had a busted blood vessel in my nose and was gushing blood non-stop. I stumbled into the OLOL ER around midnight with a huge bath towel around my nose and still leaving a huge trail of blood...and went straight to the front of that line. And nobody else seemed to mind

For example, if you are really fricked up in Atlanta you want to be at Grady; the same for CMC Main in Charlotte, but if you even have to slow down coming into the ED at either, you are going to have a bad day or night.

They do not staff the er/hospital like the big house across the street. They are more like a glorified after hours ER.

We prefer urgent care places.
For trama, definitely the Lake.
If you need to be seen immediately but not trauma, use an ambulance. They take you straight to the back.

The little OLOL in Walker. Then they will transfer to big OLOL if needed. They do all the usual stuff at the small, just no intake. Definitely don’t do Ochsner O’Neal.

BR General on Bluebonnet is way better than OLOL. I know first hand unfortunately. My wife who passed away a couple of years ago and I had to use the ER on many occasions and the difference is night and day

Damn truth…..several years ago, I had a stroke at work in my office. I had read somewhere that the only comprehensive stroke center in central Mississippi was at the “shittiest” hospital, so I requested to be taken there. Glad I did, because the care was stellar once I got out of the waiting room.

Sounds like a waste of money, time, and unnecessary radiation. If your kid is acting himself, didn’t get knocked out, and isn’t repeatedly vomiting the chances of finding anything on CT, or even needing one in the first place, is zero.

OLOL ER can be a shite show if you catch it at the wrong time. I went for a ruptured appendix last year and it took 4-5 hours to get to the back. But, they’re a damn good hospital. They pioneered a lot of new practices and are arguably the best hospital in the state, especially when it comes to cancer treatment
