I felt for the staff. They were doing the best they could, but they were overworked, underappreciated, and it looked like many felt hopeless, because the kind of clientele was not something they had any influence over -- and they knew that many were there just to take advantage of the system.
In my experience this is how more and more ERs look and function. Overworked, understaffed, abused by patients and admin alike. All the good nurses got out after Covid. Can’t blame them a bit.

It’s a shame the charity hospitals were closed. There’s a need for them by the looks of OLOL. And it isn’t fair for paying patients either to have to fight it.

Until they invite you back to room to see your loved one and they are already deceased. They knew. You got a surprise.
Not a five star experience.

It's also full of prisoners that get rooms before you because of safety. It's ridiculous. They usually have at least 2 armed guards with them. My father had to be in his bed in the hall for 8 hours, while the damn prisoners that came after him got rooms.

Suppose I just happened to slip and fall on a long thin vegetable that just happened to be on the floor when I wasn’t expecting it, and then can’t remove it? Which ER would you recommend?

OLOL is the new Earl K Long. It’s a charity hospital now.
