There are no cats that don't shed except the hairless ones. Just buy a roomba, a pet vac, a cat brush, a chair for the cat, and a housekeeper. My cat was free

a chair for the cat
that hasn’t worked in my experience. The stubborn little shite is going to lay everywhere you don’t want it to, just because it can

His chair is fabric (with a blanket) and has a warming pad, our chairs and sofa is leather and colder so 90% of the time he is in his chair.

I get that, my parents cats have a 4x4 heating pad but will also lay on anything fabric, they stay off the couch for the most part.

God forbid you bring a box into the equation though, they’ll go bananas even though they have two cat trees

I’m not a cat person, but my wife is. We have two outdoor cats because they make me sneeze and my eyes itch, so they stay outside.

Truths…

They destroy outdoor furniture.
Hair is everywhere and on everything
Vomiting is a regular occurrence
Dead rats and mice are constantly being left by the door.
They piss and shite on anything they want.
If inside, their area smells awful.
Litter boxes are disgusting.

The only thing I see value in is rodent control

We have a lab who stays inside. Dogs shed on floor and vacuum cleans it up. Cats climb and shed everywhere.

Also, cats live forever. 15-20 years…

Just get a domestic short haired cat. Get a gray one. Their fur blends in better. I have a bunch of cats, some shed more than others. The least shedding one is a shiny black and white tuxedo boy with no undercoat. The most shedding one is a white and black spotted boy with very soft fur and undercoat. My grey tabby boy doesn't shed much either but my other grey tabby, a girl, sheds almost as much as her white and black son. Her daughter, a grey and white tuxedo, has a very soft undercoat but barely sheds. It just depends on the cat.

Get a “Ragdoll”

The most docile cat, almost listens like a dog most of them, very great breed of cat, you won’t regret.

There is a bug breeder In Lafayette that we bought several from, but the name slips my memory.

We have a ragdoll. I thought she would shed a lot being a long haired cat but she doesn't. Very playful and good natured.
