Dirty, help that reeks of weed, rodents, fruit flies and too many people sending food back

When my server has nose/nostril rings. I imagine snot dripping off that thing onto my food.

I went to a place once that charged for ice I didn’t go back and they later closed

I dunno- bad food? Bad service? If it's fast food, you can't really be surprised if any of it's bad. I try to judge things on the total picture rather than have one pet peeve that sets me off.

One experience I cannot forget, in a restaurant that was unsurprisingly closed several weeks after I went there for lunch: we had been waiting for our food for a very long time. The waitress came by a couple of times to refill our drinks. She came again, and I politely asked if she could tell us when the food would be ready as we'd been waiting. She cut me off and said something like "you know I don't run the kitchen, right?" as if I was being an arse to bring something like that up to her.

What I wanted to say was, "do you wonder why you're miserable in life and working as a waitress in your late 30s? This is why." But that would have been incredibly cruel. Instead I just told her to cancel our order and bring me the check for the drinks, and left.
