Was reading a post a little while ago talking about prices in Houston being 8 dollars a pound for boiled (which is insane) and I started comparing to 3.29 a pound in Hattiesburg, Ms which is a much more reasonable price

That guy at 8/lb is an idiot. I buy them for less than $2/lb all day in Houston after Easter.

Lived in Houston for 5 years and never saw them that high. Low availability, but not much more than .50 - $1 higher than the average Louisiana price.

In Houston. $1.97/lb. if you buy them by the sack of half sack. $2.97/lb if you want smaller quantities.

A cook trailer in my area in NWLa has been selling cooked for $2 for weeks and they are good.

This is the first season that I’ve actually burnt out on crawfish.

I’ve seen restaurants in Houston that charged $20-24 for 3 lbs of crawfish, a piece of corn (small), and 2 small potatoes.

From a grocery store/seafood supplier or a restaurant? That makes a big difference.

I’ve never seen crawfish less than $6/lb in a Houston restaurant, unless it was a charity deal or something out of the ordinary.

A neighbor did some yesterday and they were Belle River crawfish, wild caught and were $1.90 a lb.by the sack from Schaefer's in Bucktown on Lake Avenue.

Very nice size crawfish, but they were typical Belle River mudbugs being hard-shelled and a bit more trouble to peel than farm raised.

I cleaned about 50 of the large heads to save for when I make bisque to go with the heads I already have saved in the freezer. That was not fun.

Went to a crawfish boil last week at a brewey here in NC close to my house. I went to pay for some and he said 2 lbs for 20$. I damn near spit my beer out. I simply walked away.
