What did you expect a thousand miles from the closest crawfish farm?

That guy in Houston doesnt know what he's talking about. $4-5/lb at most restaurants depending on what sides they give. Hell one of the major suppliers cooks them up at their shop and sells them for $1.99/lb. Know a few places that offer $25 All you can Eat.

This weekend is rough, though. Tons of seafood markets are already out of bugs and it is only Sunday.

There's only a couple of places up here that sell crawfish in restaurant. Usually as some type of appetizer running like $10-12 for the pound .

There's a crawfish farm in NC about 2 hours from me but I've never gone there personally. Usually I just ship up live crawfish and do a boil once a year. Usually runs me around $6 pound or so when you factor all of the shipping costs in. I do miss being able to just go to a crawfish places get like 20lbs

This thread made me crave crawfish. Went to this place in Dallas and holy shite that was awful. As in they pretty much dropped crawfish (probably not even live) in hit water.
And they have "Cajun" in their name
At least the craft beer was good

I’ve seen restaurants in Houston that charged $20-24 for 3 lbs of crawfish, a piece of corn (small), and 2 small potatoes.

Atlanta as well

$1.59 a pound last I checked..which was last weekend. Granted, there are crawfish farms within 20 minutes of my house and I buy direct from the source.

That guy is me. Im a petroleum engineer who just interviewed with MIT, Rice, and Yale to get an MBA so I wouldn't consider myself an idiot. I called up 6 restaurants and none had less than $7.50 a pound boiled. HEB had $2 a pound live, but they don't break sacks to sell 5 pounds. I've lived here a month and don't know all the places selling crawfish.

Yeah you’re still an idiot.

Plenty more too.

Those places are all in the outskirts of Houston. I'm not that desperate to go that far.
