Cool story about the school interviews.

HEB alone sells crawfish just about every weekend for ~$6/lb boiled, $1.97 by the sack, and $2.97 per pound if you’re only getting a few pounds. If you look around you can find similar or better deals all around. There are many places in east Texas and near the border that sell tons of crawfish in Houston each year. There are thousands of people from Louisiana that have moved here so the market is vast.

We don't get them here in Ohio. Have to order them from Tony's Seafood on Plank Rd. and have them shipped.....

That's the best price I've seen all year so far. I paid $1.85 a lb. live by the sack about 6 weeks ago and they were nice farm raised crawfish but the price went up when they started handling the Belle River crawfish recently at Schaefer's in Bucktown. They were $1.90 a lb. last weekend.

Some places in Houma are 99 cents. They are small though.

I'll pass on small crawfish every time. They are a PITA to deal with and what I have left over I'll pick for the meat and clean heads for crawfish bisque. Small crawfish are too much trouble for that, and the heads won't work either.

Real nice soft river crawfish is $50 a sack. All ponds had shut down in my parts last week.

I bought 5 lbs for $40 at a bar in Houston last weekend. I was clearly drunk to go through with it at that price.

That's a great price for that far north in Texas. Very close to the prices in the N.O. area now.

It was $1.97 at HEB yesterday and for most of the year here in the Houston/kingwood area. Told my brother they sometimes take a small loss as they know you will purchase other things. The crawfish places near me were selling live at $2.75-$3 most of the year. About $2.50 recently.

I'm just curious as to which part of the Petroleum Engineering curriculum specializes in crawfish pricing and its relation to geography.
Since apparently this topic relates to Petroleum Engineering in some way, don't let Yale, MIT, Cambridge, Oxford, et al know you couldnt figure out a crawfish prices app.....

Interestingly enough, the crawfish farmer down the road is an expert in the geological repercussions of hydraulic drilling in arid to semi arid climates so I guess they are related fields, after all.

I just paid $1.99 a pound live in Houston from HEB.

I've never, nor will ever, pay for crawfish another man has boiled. Especially in Texas. They may know Tex Mex and BBQ, but they don't know shite about how to boil crawfish.

You don’t enjoy bland crawfish that someone’s tried to mask with a zealous “dusting” of seasoning on the outside of the shell?
