Feeling like I didn't belong in my family because my mother didn't want any more children and accidentally became pregnant with me.

The death of my dad. He was on home hospice for two years and I knew the end was coming. I think of him through out the day. I thought because I’m older (52) it would be easier. He’s been gone for over a year and it’s been a struggle

Blacks seem to be most racists. Guess they still mad that they aren't back in Africa and have to live in this shite hole of the US.

Over the course of the last 4 years - Dissolution of my marriage shortly after my daughter was born. Wife ended up having an affair and married the guy. I met a girl and thought I found a second chance at love. She turned out to be incredibly unstable and it shattered me. Lost my niece in a tragic car accident. Had a couple major setbacks at work. Uncovered about $40K of hidden damages to my home caused by the previous homeowners. Started to see my dad develop Alzheimers. Managed to get a DUI at the peak of all this. Went to California on vacation and ate some edibles. Got randomly drug tested at work and had to go to outpatient rehab and lost a raise and bonus.
Before all of this my life was relatively stable and I felt on top of the world. I hope to put this period behind me soon.

but I have a feeling this move will only help to prove that I am the problem and I have to actually change myself and my habits in a major way while also acknowledging that I lack the will power to do so because I’m weirdly punishing myself for reasons I no longer remember or ever understood.
Check. This is the hard part

Luckily there is this. Meditation has been really helpful for me. It just takes patience and practice to untangle the mind.

What's been the toughest emotional struggle of your life?
Burying my older brother due the arrogance, ignorance and negligence of a pompous SOB, then finding out 3 months later my free loading wife was doing the dirty while I was at work providing for our family.
Took a long time to recover from the x-wife situation but did so by winning custody of my daughter as my own litigator (took years.) I retaliated
Losing my brother was more than horrible
My ex-wife's infidelity in hindsight was absolutely the best thing that ever happened to me. The bs I went through unveiled an intestinal fortitude I didn't know I possessed, it also taught me how to budget every dollar & not put the "P" on a pedestal.

What I’m struggling with is nothing compared to some here.

Thank you for sharing your personal story. It's humbling and an example of pure love that some people for various reasons never attain.
I'm fortunate to have met and married this amazing woman. I don't know what she saw in me I'm just glad that she saw it.

A guy that would post with a thesaurus at his side to appear smarter than he actually was and would get extremely mad if you didn’t think he was funny or mad at not being the center of attention.

Not to the extent that she has exhibited since I left her. Exacerbated by the fact that she was convinced I was having an affair as the driving reason for leaving her.

What a vagina.
Mine is having multiple organs removed and dying of cancer.
Oh a black kid made fun of you?
The horror.

That’s how I feel. I think once I got sober, I haven’t had any real emotional struggles. It’s just how life is and I’m better equipped to handle it. However, I can’t fathom the death of a child and could only imagine the pain. But with that, I feel they are the real saints and understand what the true gift of life is.

Watching my wife's health slowly decline because she was diabetic and she absolutely refused to take care of herself in any fashion.
There was nothing I could do. Beg, plead, kick, scream. Nothing. I am convinced that because her mom died young that she believed that she was supposed to die young.
I finally left her after 10 years because I realized that I could not save her and I refused to allow her to take me down with her and just watch and wait for her to slowly kill herself. I had to save myself.
Five years later she had a massive stroke (her 3rd stroke) and died before hitting 50yrs old.
I am pretty happy with life now but I have done plenty of counseling because I often if there is something else I could have done that would have kept her alive.

1. The last 2 years of full blown alcoholism
2. Dealing with my wife's postpartum depression after my son's birth.

I think that it is a sign of maturity, my friend. I too, really do not care what people think or have to say to me, if it’s not constructive. It only matters what God thinks, honestly.

That’s me. She’s doing great. Other than having to be catheterized a few times a day, she’s growing up to be a perfectly normal little girl.

1. My older brother dying suddenly in an accident when I was 19 (he was 25) - we was my best friend; trying to talk to his two year old daughter (my niece) about his death because nobody else around me seemed emotionally capable or aware that she needed information - her words ("I want to see my daddy, why won't he come back?") still sound as clear to me now 20 years later as they did that day.
2. The slow break down of my 16 year marriage. We had struggles but I want to try and work on it. My wife is done and wants a divorce. This is present day. My whole life seems like it is now about protecting my children (7 and 4). My fear is that my wife's selfishness will harm them mentally and emotionally.

I agree with this. Sobriety somehow reset my brain and I don't deal with the depression or anxiety anymore. Maybe I just learned that everything is opportunity and to find the good in everything. Maybe I went through so much shite that I realized I can handle almost anything life throws my way
There's one thing I could not handle and that would be the death of a child. Everything else is easily manageable.

Overcoming clinical depression, general anxiety disorder, insomnia and ADD, all diagnosed at the age of 33. Overcoming the life I lived prior to that and how it affected those around me.
