As a kid it would have been Quicksand, as I've gotten older its flying.

Using a knife for normal kitchen things, then being a dumbass and going to scratch my nose or something and stabbing myself in the face/eye.

It hasn't happened yet thankfully.

Falling off the Mississippi River bridge. And rabies.

I have a lot of fears but they’re totally rational.

As a kid one of my go-to swimming spots was a local lake with a diving raft out in the water. If you jumped off on side a little too deep you would come face-to-face with a seaweed forest.

I still have an irrational fear of getting tangled up in seaweed and drowning. Just being around the stuff weirds me out. I was a D1 swimmer.

I used to have this dream but kicked that one a few years ago. The last one (it was a group project presentation, not an exam) I had a lucid moment and was like, “I graduated college over a decade ago, I don’t know what I’m doing here. Good luck, I’m out.”

Have not had a school dream since.

Claustrophobia.

Would that be irrational, though?

I have no desire to ever crawl through a pipe going under the road, go into a cave deep below the ground, or frankly even being trapped in a window seat on an airplane.

Needles. I haven’t received a shot since 2011. Being in a doctors office and seeing someone walk by with a needle makes my heart race. Seeing them on tv makes my skin crawl.

Choking is mine

But on this particular concern, I experience Laryngospasm, a brief, involuntary spasm of the muscles in the larynx (voice box) that blocks breathing, but only through the mouth. The only way to stop the spasm is relaxing the larynx, which requires breathing through the nose. So if my nose is stopped up and this occurs, I am going out. The good thing is that once I am out the body will automatically relax and I will start breathing through my mouth.

376 mph? Damn, your car is fast as hell.

Roaches. I’ll pick up a venomous snake but won’t even pick up a dead roach. Because they are just playing dead and will come back to life and get on you. And if a roach touches me somewhere, the only solution is amputation of that body part.

I’m convinced they lay eggs everywhere they touch.

Being trapped in a tight confined space. Cannot move or be rescued. Knowing you’re going to die and knowing it will take a a number of days.

Going off the side of a bridge & drowning
I used to take my seatbelt off crossing the Sunshine Bridge
I figured I had a better chance of being dead when hitting the water

Public speaking and heights.

Got over both.

I don’t think I have any irrational fears anymore but I’m not going to do anything stupid like underwater cave diving.
