Whataburger has hired multinational investment bank and financial services company Morgan Stanley (NYSE: MS) to help explore a possible sale, the company confirmed May 16.

I think this goes beyond the Food and Drink Board.

A lot of Texans are proud of this place. Selling it to a damn NYC hedge fund is going to be the beginning of the end.

I enjoy the food there!

I also respect how they hire and give jobs out to people with disabilities. They really do a lot of good work for people out there.

Probably more of a national growth thing since they're pretty regional now.

A big part of what makes them great is that it's still family owned and a local company. Same as chick fil a. Both are still owned by the family that started them.

If it means I can get a green chili double here in South Carolina, pardon me while I dust off the musket.

the beginning of the end.

that started when they began franchising(as is typical,) I've always loved me some Whataburger but they've really gone down hill over the last decade or two, not much QC, it's really hit or miss anymore

I ate there at about 11:30 Tuesday night before heading into work. The drive thru sucks but going inside isn't usually bad for me. It's always full of college kids at that time. Crazy they don't put one off of Burbank somewhere.

I'm sure this is a way for the owners to partially or wholly cash out, as well as get capital for expansion. I'm sure that is their idea.

That's EVERYONE'S idea when they sell out to a hedge fund.

You have to make it here first. And that means going through Alabama.

No one wants to go through Alabama.
