NOTHING
Life was way more fun back then. Lived in the moment, no dependence on screens, planned meetups at certain locations/events and you either met your crew there or found new friends & went from there. Only thing I might miss is google maps telling me how to avoid BR traffic… other than that, Rand McNally served me just fine.

The conveniences of…..

Google
iTunes
On Demand movies
DVR

Getting a 60” TV for the price of what a 25” TV cost in the 80’s (without even factoring in the relative value of the dollar)

It’s also pretty nice that I can watch every LSU football game on TV. I actually got married the day of the Alabama-LSU game in 1990 and it wasn’t on TV - the only time since 1985 that game wasn’t televised. Back in the 80’s you might only watch your favorite college football team 2-3 times a year.

To all of you who say “nothing,” take the technology challenge.

90 percent of the people who say “nothing” would fold after getting to re-live the experience of having to pay bills by literally driving the check all the way to each and every service provider and having to stand in line.

Payphones were everywhere. You didn't really have to look very hard for one. Sucked if you didn't have a quarter though or 35 cents when they jacked up the price. You damn sure knew everyone's phone number too

Dating apps have been a disaster for both men and women. The Top 20% of men are the only ones who typically get laid on them, and frick multiple women damaging all their self esteem. The dating apps have been horrible for society as a whole.

I’m not arguing with societal impact, just my personal success. I’ve had multiple relationships from them but they’ve contributed to “next best thing” disorder for males and females. Ultimately, like all other social media, it will result in our downfall as a society as high market value individuals wait later and later to have kids. The lack of kids to replace the top tier folks in society will have unforeseen consequences

You’ve got a point there. But I was doing a pack a day of Camel straights back then.
