I would miss craft beer, potent (and legal) cannabis and google maps. Other than that I’d go back immediately

No one thinks today's ESPN is better than what it was in the late 20th century.

Yeah ESPN is shite now compared to what it was in the 90s.

As an adult, maybe decent wine and beer. Back then you could only get good wine in the city and beer was somewhat uninspired. But overall quality of life made up for it.

You had craft beer in the 90’s. Just not every town with a population larger than 5,000 people with at least two breweries like you see nowadays.

YouTube would be pretty big loss. It was a HELL of a lot harder to do DIY projects or learn things before. Now in a single weekend you can try a brisket for the first time, learn how to replace a garage door opener, milk a cat, etc

shite was not great in the 80s. Life was far harder.
Harder in what way? I obviously don’t mean you personally, but in general.

Would love to be back in my body or not in the 80s as long as I have my knowledge now just for the freedom, fun and women.
I kept 3 encyclopedia sets back then and would only miss instant net info.

On GPS, as a teenager in the 80s I did truck driving and other delivery jobs and rarely used maps. Never used a Thomas guide. People would always answer the phone and gave good quick help if you didn't know.

There were books on all of these subjects you could buy or check out from the library. Or you call friends and neighbors who might know how to do such things. This was the basis for much social interaction, unlike most modern social interaction which is polite small talk "so how's work... great, yes me too. This weather, really humid today, hopefully we get an afternoon thunderstorm, the tomato plants really need it.". The overall banality of modern conversation at social gatherings is sad. Back then, if you wanted to learn how to cook a brisket, you know someone who cooks brisket and call them. They may tell you over the phone, or invite you over for the weekend to show you. Different times. It would be a nightmare for most young people today.

Think 1985 Marty McFly vs 2015 Marty McFly Jr. Imagine putting 2015 Marty in the time machine back to 1985. He'd kill himself.

I would even argue that TV was actually better. HBO and Showtime actually played movies all day long with no commercials. The Weather Channel actual had weather. Comedy Central actually had comedy. MTV was music videos, all day and night. CNN actually did news reports 24/7. The Learning Channel (TLC) and Discovery were actually awesome documentaries about nature, science, space, etc. 80's/90's sitcoms on network TV were awesome.

TV sucks now, regardless of 700 worthless channels.

Man I used to love Discovery and the History Channel. It's sad they are all reality TV shows now. Falling asleep watching a documentary on the fall of the Roman Empire or on the wild cats of Africa was a pretty regular thing for me.

THis, and Pete's, but there were also all the imports. Killian's, Guinness, Bitberger, Amstel, Bass, Heineken, Sapporo, et al.

It wasn't all just Bud/Miller/Coors.
