I'm a non OT baller and currently in Sevierville, TN for vacation which was supposed to continue in Myrtle Beach, SC where I have a non refundable condo reservation for this weekend.

Only problem is I'm afraid of getting stranded somewhere because of the gas shortage going on down there. Gas is available here in Tennessee but its getting pretty dicey in the Carolinas plus I don't know what it will be like on the way back (Mondayish).

Plus I have the I40 clusterfrick in Memphis to look forward to.

I can go over 600 miles on a tank of gas.

Guess the OP cannot.

You only live once, go to Myrtle Beach and enjoy yourself.

Fill up where you can and bring extra and avoid the lines. Gas cans are cheap

Leaning toward getting about 3 five gallon cans and doing this.

I have a bed cover on my truck so it shouldn't be a problem storing it.

Go to Lowe's, get you a couple of those plastic totes, fill them up in 10rc and head to the beach.
You are welcome.

So buy about 6 5 gallon cans, fill them up and put them in the back of the truck

Or rent a more fuel efficient vehicle for the trip and just keep a couple in the trunk

Create a plan on travel...

My quick plan would be searching your route and locating small towns along the route and fueling up there. Likely some place as you exit the Smokies. The small town local gas stations will likely be good on fuel. It looks to be less than a 400 mile trip. Fill up when leaving then top off about half way to Myrtle Beach.

Also, why is this an issue if you are in Sevierville?

Do you have Triple A? Could always call them for service if you run out along the way
