Trulia link to a house for sale in Selma Alabama for $148,000. This house in Huntsville would probably bring $700,000.

Probably about 700 but then someone with big money would buy it and sink a bunch of money into it

People like you are why real estate agents still have careers.

Plumbing is probably not working. Probably cast iron.

Is over 5,000 square feet and looks like all the bathrooms, kitchen, appliances, probably central ac all need to be updated/upgraded. You buy it for $150k and have to spend another $200k+ to get it to modern standards

If you've ever been to Selma, this wouldn't really surprise you.

And then you are still in Selma

What's wrong with Selma? Seriously, is it a bad place to live?

Not a bad investment to me.

, I don't know if it needs that much, but some work to update it is definitely in store.

That all depends where the house would be in Huntsville.
In Old Town/Five Points? Sure. Off Mastin Lake? Not so much.
