Odds are, if the daughter is parking in the driveway, she is parking close to the garage on the side closest to the front door. So what are we talking about, 10 feet? If the mom is so concerned, what is the reason that she won't give up her spot? Someone can just as easily get you in the garage as they can from the driveway. I bet if the daughter keeps parking behind the mom in the driveway and the mom has to get her daughter to keep moving the car so she can leave for work, it won't take long before daughter's car is parked in the street.

Both the kid and the mom park outside. Kid because she has the crappiest car and the mom because she dumb enough to suggest he not park a brand new $75K Road Machine in the garage.
PS - If the mom talks back....she gets to park on the street.

It's not a gentleman issue, it's a respect issue. He owns the home, is the aged member of the household, and likely contributes considerable financial means to the family unit.
It's also a stupidly easy issue to fix - have the daughter call/text when she's arriving at night so he can open the door and watch her come in for safety sake. Or, if he's buying a 75k BMW, build a 3rd bay in the garage or move to a house w/ larger garage.

I love poor W2 problems. The crap they waste their time worrying about while on someone else’s clock amazes me.
