So, yesterday afternoon someone cut the lock on my bike and stole it. I immediately had a hunch as to who it was as I live quite close to a drug house (the only one in the area, on East State street basically next to the first Canes). I figured frick it, it was a lost cause, but then as I pull up to my apartment I see it outside clear as day next to one of their cars and them standing around said car.

Here is my dilemma: do I even bother calling BRPD? This house got busted a few months back for drugs and shite LINK so they are total scumbags. My only problem is that then they will hate me and I am worried they might try to break into my apartment or physically harm me which obviously isn't worth the hassle over a fricking bike. My hope is they just leave outside because they are dumb fricks and I just take it back and lock it inside my apartment.

Also inb4 trashy and poor because yes I'm a poor recent college grad soon to be graduate student.

Did they see you notice the bike? I can't imagine that showing them you'll just sit there and let them take your stuff will set a tone that is beneficial for you.

Contact police, say what happend. Meet them by the shell across from canes. Tell them you want to walk and see if you can get the bike back withouth incident. If the scumbags decide to mess with you, have the cops "roll by" and pretend they saw a group of individuals and wanted to investigate. At that point you tell the cops " oh nothing going on officer, just getting my bike back from my friend I let borrow it".

Then jump on bike and proceed to ride off. Next time, leave your bike in your apartment.

It turns out my dad's last tenants in one of his rentals was a big drug dealer. House got raided, one went to prison for a weapons cache, lbs of coke and crack. They walked out of the lease and stole his fridge. The kicker is he knows where the baby momma works.

I asked him if he was going to call the cops. His reply "son, that 2k fridge isn't worth me getting on the wrong side of a drug dealer"

Why didn't you do this to begin with knowing what you know about your neighbors?

Because I would rather not piss off drug dealers lmao. Also (ETA: not by them, at my old job) I've been robbed at gunpoint twice so I'm really not trying to go through anything crazy again.

I usually do but I was in a rush to get somewhere and didn't feel like dragging my bike up a flight of stairs.

Report the house to LSU greek affairs. Tell them it is a location for large gatherings lacking prior approval, known underage drinkers, and they are stealing neighbors property. It will be dealt with promptly.
