Frenchtown Road. Before Central thruway was built, back in the 70s it was claimed that if you drove to a trestle on that road there were devil worshipers.

It’s now mostly lobbyists who use the houses for parties, orgies, and crash pads.

Used to be convenient squirrel and rabbit hunting back in Stevendale area in the 70’s-80’s. Lots of trails for ATV riding too.
IIRC the bussing kids away from neighborhood schools was the demise of that area.

Eastgate Cedarcrest Camelot
I lived in Camelot starting around 1991.
It was a pretty cool place to grow up given that Aston Oaks/Woodland Ridge/Camelot were all separated by a park with a basketball court.
There were some woods between Afton Oaks and the offices behind Eastgate. We spent hundred of hours in there building forts and chopping trees.
I could go on for hours about growing up there. Great times

When I was a kid the old drusilla club off Jefferson we used to go a creep around in. It was crazy scary at night in there.

You haven't lived on the edge until you have chased an armed gangster through the cut at the dead end of North 47th Street in Eden Park in the middle of the night.
The concrete canals that run through North Baton Rouge in that area also make for interesting adventures.

I remember in the 90s down South Harrells Ferry there was a dead end if you didn't turn on to Woodlake to enter White Oak Landing. I'd heard that there were devil worshippers back there that would congregate near the Amite. The road has been extended since then and I believe Wilderness at White Oak is back there now, but it still eventually comes to a dead end.
Also not technically BR but the little gypsy camp when you get off at the Geismar exit

That Stevendale area would be hit hard with any big flood. My brother-in-law's parents used to live off of Stevendale on S. Amite. The house has long since been torn down. I would imagine a lot of people would leave after their house had flooded. The Hispanics are taking over that area now.
Concord Estates was always a weird one to me. I just used it as a cut through from Constitution to Perkins Rd.

Stevendale took a wallop in the 2016 flood.

Is that when we finally lost the NASCAR Bar that was in the hotel next to Stevendale?

What options would they have had for schools? Seems like only Belaire because the bridge leading into Livingston Parish is right to the east. Was there an entry point to the north? I only remember being able to enter from Florida Blvd.
