bullshite. The days of admin warnings for IMing in a thread and other basic shite were stupid. They were Nazis back then. I am glad they stay out of the small-time shite now.

I think most people feel the heyday was when they started and really got in to posting.

I remember the Night Shift Roll Call and how that got me through many a boring night shift.

It’s really about your interaction here. Hard to have real insight on something you weren’t part of

NSRC was entertaining and many nights better than the late night snack thread until some posters got their panties in a wad and complained.

Wish some of the old NSRC peeps were here now it would help pass the nights again. I’m getting to old for nights Fr33

I’m done with them as far as working goes. Too much time away from someone in a lonely bed is no way for a relationship. But unfortunately i’ve Never quite been able to shake the insomnia. More mornings than I can count I watch the dawn with no sleep.

The NSRC was like this everyman kind of refuge. Working folk that knew the struggles of the nightwatch.

And then it got banned and we kept bringing it back. Clandestine as it were. And then that part of me died, the worst sort of way in a short span of time.

Regardless, it was a stupid thing in a stupid place from a stupid man. Better left dead

The late 2000s. We didn't have a damn board for every topic as we do now. It's kind of ruined it.

There were also a few college kids on here. Made things more fun.

Then there was all the personal drama. There were some OT get togethers. Also, some dating began, with blows. That drama made the OT more fun.

The OT is a shell of its former self. If it wasn’t for the poli board I probably would quit altogether.

Used to be when I would check OT, there was a full page of new posts or replies within 15 minutes or so. Now I'm noticing the page doesn't change as much as there are fewer new posts and older ones are staying on front page much longer

Things were definitely livelier on the OT when the 30 or so cool kids who went to LSU together -- aka Tier 1 -- were basically running the board. In fact that's the first thing I noticed about the OT -- I'd never seen a board where so many posters knew each other IRL. They were constantly posting about OTGTs and other personal stuff.

As the various posters graduated and went their separate ways the influence of Tier 1 waned, although GtG and especially Rag did their best to keep it going w/the Tier 1 awards and indeed the name Tier 1 itself, which like "The Wrecking Crew" was only applied in retrospect.

What happened is that Tier 1 was never replaced. Every year sees fewer and fewer LSU students posting here. In the old days people posted about frats. Now they post about their kids.

Hmmm..... Does it tie in to declining student attendance at LSU games? They just don't care as much about LSU sports as they used to OR....

Is it because of the rise of Facebook?

The OT isn’t as entertaining because of all the extra boards. So it doesn’t attract the ADD college kids.

Around the time of Miles to Michigan. Huge influx of new posters. Watching the old guard skewer people was entertaining. The thing was then you could truly frick with people. Picc getting creeped on at games, throw downs with Clean, Afreaux vs. whitey, SFP vs Sports 2 different animal then.

I tried to ascertain Lester Earl’s identity and physical address.

After I procured what I believed was an accurate suspect, I emailed the admins with the info and said I was going to hunt him down.
