my dad didn't want me to have a full time job during hs, but he would pay me to go to his office at night and clean it, think he gave me $20/week, and on Tuesday nights and sometimes Saturday nights I would work at the newspaper putting in ad inserts, the office cleaning gig paid better and I didn't have to stay up all night, also used to help my buddy with his newspaper route after the papers were printed

Putt Putt on Florida .... incredible gig. We played $1 a hole amongst us, plenty of talent in and out, golf balls into fun fair park or Florida (really dumb mind you). Free sodas and baseball video game.

Drove tractors on my family’s farm….a lot younger than high school, though.
First legal job was cashier/stockboy at a local drug store.

was driving trucks and operating heavy equipment well before I was old enough to get a DL, the only reason my parents let me get my license as soon as I was old enough was so that I could legally drive trucks for my dad when I worked for him during the summers and holidays

Winn-Dixie back in early 1991.
ETA: Did y'all call it Winn-Dickme too?
Quit that job to go work at Blue Bayou Water Park later that summer and had so much fun.
Pay was only $3 , but I worked every day and stayed there from like 8:30am 'till 6:30 pm.( It opened at 10:00pm) I never looked at the schedule and just showed up every day. Always had no shows so I was never turned down to work.
Managers liked me and my friend so I think that made a difference. Densmore I think I remember his name was.
Doing in service and preparing the Slides in the Morning. Cleaning up the pools and picking up tubes and stuff after everyone else left.
Made way more money than normal for a teenager. 70+ hours a week.
Have a lot of pictures somewhere (think at my parents house) if anyone wants to see them, next time I go to my parents house I will look for them.

I was in college before I was old enough to get a work permit. Ruston clerk asked me what high school I was attending, and I said, "LA Tech."
McDonalds was my first job, and the female that worked the drive though gave me another first, too.[

Maybe you should have spent more time studying.

Worked as a porter at a hotel catering to business travelers. $3.35/hr at age 16.
Primarily ran extra towels, etc to the rooms except for Tuesday nights when they had a "Manager's Reception" (cocktail party) for the guests. Then I had to clean up the room and wash the damn dishes. It did have an outdoor heated jacuzzi so that was a good perk, especially when visiting girls stayed there. I let my dumbass friends talk me into quitting that job because one of them did a stupid thing and got fired. I was asked to cover for him and refused, then I quit later that week. Was a pretty good job, better than my next one at Pizza Hut.

For harvesting tobacco it was piece work and pay was $50-125 per day which was 8-15x minimum wage. Crazy money for grade - HS at the time. My mom made me save more than half so paid for cawlidge car etc. There isn't similar money in the industry today, now hiring offshore help rather than locals and its more mechanized too.
