Idk about a stereotype, but they were all pretty much nerds with athletic ability. They made good grades, liked nerdy shite, but were a tough group of dudes.
To the side conversation: Baseball dads are the fricking worst because they can and do coach the teams. I've seen them poach players from other teams in order to win some tournament in Florida that doesn't mean shite. They also ride their 11 year old kid like he's playing in the World Series.

I went to wrestling tryouts, but they didnt have any ropes or turnbuckles, just a shitty circle on the floor. I left.

Many of us thought the WCW overplayed the NWO and that lead to the collapse of the franchise. We feared WWE would follow suit once all the WCW rasslers moved over.
For a while we were proud of sting for staying true but he later sold out.

I graduated a year behind Kenny and Rob.... Wrestled against them all the time at practice.

98 was my freshman year at Catholic, so I knew some of yalls guys, like Crump, Chapman...
In 98 KS from BMHS was Catholics head coach, so I know him and RD as well.
Cormier has easily had the best career of any LA wrestler. But I've also grappled with Ben in BJJ/MMA training he is a stud.
FWIW my Highschool record was 114-11...

Didn't have wrestling while I was in high school. However, I wish they did since it would have helped my jits game starting out but my kid's high school has it and the coaches pushed it hard for all the linemen. So my kid started wrestling 3 years ago and now I have a built in training partner.
Wrestlers that cross over to jits are usually very tough with super cardio.

Two of them wore camouflage pants with olive green tank tops. They would walk around making weird noises, waving their arms, and licking random people's faces.

If you have kids that play football it's a great cross over sport. Never had an appreciation for the sport until my son wrestled in high school, wished we would have started earlier.
