That's how I remember it.

Was in college at the time and always thought it was idiotic. Put surveillance on Koresh and when he is in public arrest him alone.

At the time it was “WTF”?!?

Then it was “Holy shite WTF!?!”

I was 12 at the time… I remember everyone being aware of it… as a matter fact for most people my age it’s the first thing that comes to mind when thinking of Waco

this is part of the absurdity of it all, Koresh was out and about in the community all of the time, and the "compound" wasn't some fortress with armed guards, a security gate with all of the Davidians locked down as prisoners, the community(albeit that's kind of a peculiar community,) loved him, he had a good rapport with local law enforcement

I was a teenager so I didn't watch the news or read newspapers, but I do remember the adults being instantly divided by it. The liberals in the family all taking the ATF side and the conservatives taking the people's side. The gun control issue was big at the time with the Brady Bill, and this raid was originally about them having guns they weren't supposed to have, so right off the bat, republicans were ready to take the side against the ATF, and likewise the liberals on the side as the ATF, like the bootlicking socialist kvnts they are.

Some people were hip to it after the first "invasion" by the ATF.

Lots of us were skeptical toward the end, particularly when we found out that Koresh could have been nabbed alone many times over.

Then it became apparent this was some staged event from the government perspective.

A High School friend of mine was the ATF agent who had a round bounce off his helmet in the original video, when they were storming the facility.

Timothy McVeigh was outside Mt Carmel handing out leaflets about Ruby Ridge. There is pictures of him doing this.

If Waco didn’t happen, The OKC bombing might not have happened.
