Grandpas wonder bar. Made from pine tar. Strong smell but draws the oils out of the area and allows it to dry up

I’ve read that applying cool mayonnaise works well, or room temperature olive oil.
I've heard same, but also put slice of bologna, or baloney as it's spelled in some circles, over the mayo.

Aloe once it blisters, you gotta heal the skin.
From the plant if possible, split the leaves and wrap it to your arm.
Go out and buy some technu wash and keep it in your house. When you get in it, if you can wash with the technu within 15-20 min of exposure you won’t get ia reaction. You have to get the plant resin off your skin, and regular soap won’t cut through it.

Soak brown paper bag pieces/strips or just cotton ball in vinegar (apple cider or plain white). Cover affected area. It's helps draw out/dry up the oils that cause irritation.

Clorox
I used to make a paste out of Ajax/comet cleaner and apply to to the bad areas. It Will burn for a min but will dry it out pretty quick.

Get a prescription for steroid pills and an anti itching medics over the phone/teledoc
Or go to an urgent care/your doctor and get a steroid shot
Both of those are only thinks that work for me (I’m super allergic)…usually get the pills when I know I have it because I catch myself in it. Once it’s broken out and gotten too far get the shot

My Nephew (seriously wild guy) who gets PI bad, swears that he uses full strength Clorox with a quick scrub, and IMMEDIATE wash off. Says it works.
Of course, once you get it bad, might not work as well. My Son got it down his throat one time; I've gotten in my eyes. I've went so far as to scrape infected areas with a knife until the bled and scabbed over to stop the spread. Not sure if that worked.
Bottom line: treat Poison Ivy like you would a poisonous snake; both can deal some serious consequences if limited treatment options are available. I'm virtually having to wallow in it to clear essential areas on my property. Gloves and extreme care a must.
Good luck.

If it's really bad, Celestone injection will knock it out. I'd just treat it with some of that Vaseline Intensive Care lotion and maybe some Oatmeal baths (Aveeno makes a good one.)

Haha ok Trump.
I kid, I kid. Same on the bleach, but fairly lightly diluted into a warm bath. That should also kill any other latchers on, say perhaps a mite or two. Red bugs, hell.

Steroid prescription
I've had good results coating the itch area with the lather of dial soap (gold/orange color bar)

I generally scrub the area with rubbing alcohol 2-3 times a day, but I dont have bad reactions. My dad is highly allergic and HAS TO get a steroid shot ASAP.

It won't help you now, because you have to order it, but there is a company called Bend Soap Company. Their goat's milk soaps, bath soaks, and lotions are really good for anything that itches. Their oatmeal honey works wonders on eczema. Their unscented lotion stops mosquito bites itching almost immediately.

This or Technu or Dawn Dish soap PREFERABLY BEFORE it starts bubbling.
The problem is that the chemical secreted by poison ivy etc actually links with your skin and forms a complex that is unfixable until it runs it course, so steroids (to dampen your bodies immune response) are only answer once that happens.

Take a hot shower. As hot as you can stand. The heat draws out the histamine. You will be able to get a good nights sleep.

I found out about 15 years ago that I am highly allergic to poison ivy. I contacted some tearing down my old fence to put up a new one. My arms and legs looked like oozing taco meat. I tried calamine and oatmeal baths, they didn't do a thing. Went to urgent care and they prescribed a cycle of prednisone. Took about 2 weeks to knock it down and another two to clear up completely. Enjoy being miserable.
