Has it been such a slow news month, that the 5,000 time such a thing was predicted, people around the globe are still fascinated by it and anticipating it today?
they were able to tie the date to the trumpets which the bible mentions is my guess.

I was told the rapture was supposed to go down during the eclipse last summer.

“No man knows the day or hour.”
That is if even if“The Rapture” is really what is popularly believed or when it’s popularly believed to occur.
My theology gets simpler and simpler as I age and draw nearer to my end on this terrestrial sphere.
“LORD, be merciful to me, a sinner.”

However the Bible also gives multiple signs that are coming to pass right now so for a collection of books written thousands of years ago to start nailing current events I am thinking it is close.
Due to strife, famine, war? Could be said of any point in human history

What if I cross the international date line? Do I get re-raptured?
Posted on 9/23/25 at 4:20 pm to thejuiceisloose
The only rapture that will occur will be on Judgement Day. Premillennial Dispensationalism is false.

quote:No it doesn't and no it isn't. Most of you dont realize the suffering of those from the past. You're so very self-centered. You think you're living in difficult times? You think you're the ones who get to experience the Rapture. Self-centered.
However the Bible also gives multiple signs that are coming to pass right now so for a collection of books written thousands of years ago to start nailing current events I am thinking it is close.

My mother told me when I was a kid that during WWII people were heading to the hills because it was Armageddon and the end times. It’s been happening off and on my whole life and will be from now on I reckon.
quote:
The idea that "the end is near" emerged in the late 1960s due to several factors, including the dark turn of the hippie movement, as symbolized by the Altamont Free Concert and Manson Family murders, and the growing disillusionment with the Vietnam War, which fragmented the optimistic vision of the 1960s and signaled a cultural shift towards a more cynical and complex outlook.

Theres evidence of a child being born and visited by 3 men
If you are going to comment on what the Bible states, at least learn it.

Isn’t the concept of a rapture a relatively recent creation that isn’t really supported by the biblical text anyway?
Yep.
It only started to come into vogue the mid-19th century.

Hopefully the rapture waits until tomorrow since I’m already home from work

We can both agree (respectfully for those who hold a counter-position) that these words are of no comfort if you believe in a pre-tribulation rapture. They need no comfort because they are in the presence of Christ.
I'd contend that these words were a comfort to the readers at the time and for the Church in the future. Think about 2nd half of Daniel and the crazy happenings about to unfold on Babylon, the power no one thought would be brought down. God's revelation to Daniel detailed things that came to pass (most scholars think) with the Medes, Persians, Alexander the Great, etc.
Think about John's visions in Revelation and how it was given to them as the church was heading into almost unfathomable time of persecution and death of apostles.
The Church throughout history has been persecuted and faced times of hopelessness. But, we take heart because we know the end of the story.
I certainly don't know for sure the proper end times view out of the 4 prominent ones, but the older I get the more the amillenialist view makes sense to me.
