Should have paid attention to details but I'd offer him a legit path to citizenship if he put in 2 more years in the military, even if just the reserves.

Seems more like a means to an end rather than patriotic.

Go to the US embassy or military base in their country. Say, "I want to be in the Army, Navy, Air Force Marines." The two parties work up a contract if they can meet the requirements (Physically fit. Of service age 17-42. They can speak English. And can obtain a SSN and a green card). They come to the US for basic training. Complete their service. Become a Citizen.
So then what you're saying is that anyone from any country on earth can become a US citizen if they serve for a few years, funded by the American taxpayer?
Yeah, no thanks to that idea

If he served in our armed forces and was honorably discharged, I believe he should be granted citizenship.

I’m asking because I don’t know the rules, but how the hell can you be in the country illegally and join our military? Seems like a lot of risk there.

Of course I painted it at the 10k foot level. The recruiters on the ground would be more selective in the process that I outlined.

If I'm a judge, case closed right there. He's a citizen.

This is so easy. He should be granted citizienship.
This is just pure bureaucratic bullshite.

Right but that's not the law, what you are advocating for is legislating from a bench. When President AOC appoints federal judges that begin hearing cases and decide "climate change refugees" should be given status in the US I don't think you will have the same sentiment.

Rare occasion where common sense should prevail and he should be given a path to citizenship

The fact that you and so many apparently would be fine with our military being populated with, and it's intelligence and methods being available to, a bunch of third world dudes whose only tie to this country is wanting to come here for stuff is wild to me. Down vote away, but in my opinion that's a horrendous idea.

He should be given citizenship…..he’s earned it.

That path should be petition for citizenship through the regular channels and see how it goes.
If anyone on the left thinks this is some sort of gotcha, it isn't, because this guy shouldn't have been voting either...I don't care who he voted for. He's just exposed another area we need to look to close any loopholes.
