15-Year-Old Charged With Shooting at Tuscaloosa Police Officers in Alberta Monday Night

No one was injured when shots were fired at police officers in eastern Tuscaloosa Monday night, and investigators have a teenage suspect in custody they believe was responsible.
Captain Jack Kennedy, the commander of the Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit, said Tuscaloosa Police officers were patrolling in the 600 block of 23rd Avenue East in a marked car due to a report of a shooting the day before that injured no one.

officers saw a person rapidly walk between two houses as they approached, and when their patrol vehicle passed that space, the person was reportedly crouched between the two houses with a firearm in his hand, wearing a mask.
"The suspect fired at least 8 rounds in rapid succession at the officers, who accelerated and drove past the suspect," Kennedy said. "The suspect was then observed running away and jumping fences. The officers did not stop, or otherwise make any contact with the suspect, and were merely driving along the street when they were fired upon. The officers did not return fire. The patrol vehicle was not struck, but an occupied residence was struck on the opposite side of the street

Forensic and video evidence clearly show the suspect was firing at the police, Kennedy said.

Officers set up a perimeter and began a search for the suspect, and the VCU was called out to investigate. Because a TPD officer was involved, only investigators from other agencies were tasked with handling the investigation.
"After speaking with witnesses from the neighborhood, as well as reviewing the officer’s dash cam and body cam, and multiple sources of surveillance video, a 15-year-old juvenile was developed as a suspect," Kennedy said. "The suspect was located later that evening, and after executing search warrants, the firearm believed to have been used was also located."
The VCU is forbidden by law from identifying juvenile suspects but said the young person has been charged with two counts of Attempted Murder and Shooting into an Occupied Residence and committed to juvenile detention.
Kennedy said police believe this suspect was also involved in the shots fired which were reported the previous day

Death penalty. We can do it now or wait until after he kills someone.

Did he have to practice football outside during the summer?
If so maybe just let it slide.

Gotta start treating criminals like this as terrorists and shipping them to far away prisons instead of putting them in local prisons with all of their friends.

under our prior federal government he would have been sentenced 6 months for fire arm aiming school.

Attempted murder and try him as an adult. Throw the book at the parents while you're at it.
At 15 years old, if you have a gun, you know damn well that it is capable of killing someone, and there is no question that shooting a gun towards someone is not acceptable.
A 15 year old shooting at cops does not have the parenting to make him a productive citizen in society.

Agreed. This isn't vandalism, or pranks. If you are already shooting at cops at 15, your life is forfeit.
Give him the needle and move on.

I personally don’t support the death penalty but I think 20 years at minimum. Maybe that’s long enough to come out and be a productive citizen.

So let a sociopath get a 20-year masters' degree in criminal behavior and then come out of prison at 35 in the prime of his criminal life.
Brilliant!

Try as an adult. At 15 you know not to do that stuff.
Send him to the prison for a few years.
Maybe he will catch syphilis. It is rampant in the Alabama prison and city jail systems.
Because sodomy is still illegal in Alabama, the state cannot provide condoms to the prisoners. That would be condoning illegal behavior.
True story, told to me by someone in the Alabama Department of Public Health.

And follow that up with a one-way ticket to Ukraine where he can shoot as many times as he wants until a drone blows his sorry POS head off

Right. 99.99% chance this kid hasn’t had really any kind of parental upbringing whatsoever. He likely doesn’t even really have “parents” in the traditional sense. He was a little boy when the world went crazy with the anti police movement and you know damn well he’s likely heard these views since he was in the single digits.
The only and I mean ONLY chance at him ever becoming a productive member of society would be removing him far away from his current situation and confining him in a detention facility.
In that facility there would need to be positive peer pressure and he would have to learn life skills and a trade.
The likelihood of all this happening is damn near zero. It’s such a sad cycle.
