What percentage of college students do you think actually want to learn?

Versus attending becasue they think that is the only way they can get a ‘good’ job?

It depends on what year they are in. First year students have an entirely different mindset than someone who’s been there three years.

I think college students should take a year or two off after HS and travel the world before attending any university. To many uncultured dipshits out there.

What percentage of colleges actually give a flying frick whether their students learn as long as they pay?

Depends really on the individual's stage of life.
first year or so, regardless of what people say, they really have no idea what they want to do for the rest of their life....drinking and chasing women sounds pretty good, so it is off to college to get an "education"
sophomore/jr timeframe, hangovers start getting too bad to party much and we start to legitimately think about various careers and what it will take to get there. At this stage, you are really not that interested in learning, but you do start to realize that you have to accomplish certain educational milestones in order to work in a job that you like.
Sr year is when I actually figured out that I needed to retain some knowledge, as my classes became a lot more pertinent to my chosen career.

Students pay the university to present the material to them. Learning is up to the students.
This ain’t high school, students are adults and responsible for themselves

even if 100% wanted to learn, no teaching is allowed at college, its liberal propaganda, protesting, and the joys of socialism is all they get indoctrinated with

This is true, but what percentage of them actually have any interest in learning something in college? I have taught at colleges, and would put it a no better than 50%. By the end of the 2nd year most of those that are not motivated have dropped out, but there is still a small percentage that have no interest in their work,are just going through the motions to get a degree, and have enough intellect to pull it off.

Spending some time on the end of a shovel in the sun/cold/rain as I did makes can make sitting in a class under a roof with AC and heat pretty appealing.

I was absolutely in the want to learn category, and when I met my future wife and saw that’s where her heart was I knew she was a keeper.

I started liking classes junior year for both degrees
