Kevin Gates would be more then you expect.

Gates was in Lafayette last night, some people I know went -- and the Cajundome wasn't even sold out I don't think. His popularity is on the downswing. Travis Scott or Youngboy would draw more.

I saw Billy Joel at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas back in February. Good crowd, but not even close to a sellout.

Was there too, and there were seats available. Also saw him in 2019 at Globe Life, same story.

I guess finally people are seeing he’s a self promoting performer

Well yeah he’s promoting himself. As the one to set the country back on the right track. President’s a one man position, and if you want to be that man you have to promote yourself as that man. Damn son. Hell.

“Performer”? Yeah sure, that comes into play as well in a roundabout way. But we’re getting ahead of ourselves, we’ll have to touch on that later in the week. We’ve gotta start out with the basics up above. You’ll be fine. With some elbow grease and determination, and probably a good bit of luck.

Billy Joel is playing Notre Dame’s stadium in a couple weeks and that’s been sold out for more than a year. Add the extra 40,000 capacity of Tiger Stadium and it would still be a sellout.

Billy Joel playing Notre Dame stadium is a huge deal to those people because of his only the good die young controversy with Notre Dame in the 80s when they told him not to play it and he got himself “banned from campus”.

Billy Joel selling out that stadium has a lot to do with past history.

Yes on all of these.

Add Elton John and Carrie Underwood to that list.

saw him at the LSU student union when he was still young and hungry, he blew the roof off of the place, had a couple of good albums after that but, like most, once the money started rolling in the artistic juices dried up

Grateful Dead with Jerry …
…. 40k tops

Fare Thee Well - 50th Reunion tour put 75,000 in Soldier Field for 3 consecutive days with Trey Anastasio playing guitar and Bruce Hornsby on keyboard. The GD office recv’d 250,000 mail in ticket requests, most had to be turned away. They capped ticket sales for actual stadium attendance. I attended the July 4th show and there were tens of thousands of dead heads who showed up in the parking lot looking for a ticket.

If Jerry were still alive to play a few final shows, in the right venue the GD would pack 100,000 fans. Since he’s gone we’ll never know.

No more stadium concerts for me. They suck. I’d much rather go to an arena concert even if the act maybe isn’t as good.

We saw Travis Tritt (not a huge fan) at Shreveport Municipal Auditorium last month and it was a great show. We were 6th row. I’d go to another like that in a heartbeat. And I’m not a big Country music guy, but I can appreciate talent. I’d take that night over the Garth in Tiger Stadium any day.

The Shreveport Municipal Auditorium is an awesome venue. Back in 2015, I saw Brit Floyd play in front of 600 people tops. I bought a ticket at the box office, day of show, and sat in the 10th row. I agree small auditoriums > huge stadiums

Valid point but this is the OT. It’s not about qualify music in a venue set up for music. It’s group think and the madness of crowds.

I wasn’t a Garth Brooks fan before reading this thread.

Now, i am on the side of those who like Garth and i would never, ever want to be associated with the grumpy , bitchy posters who dont like him - so i now consider myself a fan .
