I'm a CPA, so I'm sure I'll probably be doing some sort of work forever. I can literally do my job from anywhere so I don't see the point in stopping completely.

I was planning on working into my 60's but I've recently had two uncles both die within 12 months of their retirements in their 60's.
I won't do that, I'd rather be poor in a shack, but I won't work until I die

I really hate the fact that i will have to work well after i should be retired
Life will continue to get more and more expensive and i wont have a choice

I know eventually this will change, but I’ve never seen myself as a retiree.

At this point, I'm going to work well past 65.

As far as a day, I’m salary so I pull some 10s, some 6s, just depends. I definitely don’t sacrifice family time for work. At least not yet. I hope to never have to.
I've always live by prioritizing faith, family, then work and it has served me well. If my job ever interferes with the first two, it's time for me to find somewhere else to work. I quit a job just after 8 months of being employed because the job was taking time away from spending time with my family. I'm willing to give a little extra every now and then, but I'm not working 55-60 hours every damn week.

Yeah, the one thing I won’t have to worry about is finding ways to pass the time.
Traveling to interesting locations in the US and around the world , reading, audiobooks, visiting friends who are all over the country, keeping up with my favorite sports teams, keeping my house clean and organized, learning about art, practicing an instrument, listening to music (much better than what I can play
), cooking, and even spending time on Tigerdroppings, Substack, and Twitter.
One of my friends wants me to learn to play golf so that may something to do when I’m a bit older.
I like tennis and ping pong, so I guess when I’m older, that means I’ll play pickle ball
So many things that beat work and keep my brain decently occupied.
Once I’m in a comfortable spot financially, I will work with whoever my senior managers are and design a 3-6 month period where I can train the next people to do my job, and that’ll be a wrap.
There was a 68 year old guy who was doing that right when I started my current job a few years ago. Lives in Spain now.

About 40 years. Then be in position to do whatever makes you happy, which includes work for some.

I’m 59 and been working 41+ years. Some health issues surfaced back in 2016 so trying my best to get out in 5 years. I don’t want to be the statistic that retires and then dies in less than a year.

Not counting the teenage entry level jobs I did and my military time, I plan to retire after 33 years in my career field.
I'll still be young enough and healthy enough (Inshallah) to move into an area/hobby that I enjoy and would still be able to earn a side cash flow from it without the pressure of "having to" work.
However, as is always the case God laughs at the plans of Man... His will be done...

I've retired but continue to work, 3 days a week. It's boring to sit home

Worked full time till 50 and working part time in same field now. When house gets paid off (5 year hopefully), I’ll do part time at something more “fun”.
Part time working retirement is about as much as I can hope for, but not bad.

I'll probably try to be out by 55 or 60, but I think I would take or create a small bookkeeping service focused around breweries so I don't go insane.

I'm on year 39 of working for someone. Hoping to retire by year 42

Same same .. ive heard that when it comes to retirement, there are two kinds of people: 1) Those who get bored, lose their “purpose” and go back to work or die.. and 2) those who cant figure out for the life of them HOW in the world they ever found time before retirement to hold down a full-time job… i know without a doubt that i will be the second type … All the things you mentioned; i have no interest in golf but i only mentioned it b/c many people play it.. Like you, i love tennis (not that pickleball crap)- real singles tennis, and look forward to many hours of playing when im retired.. The one thing you forgot to mention is just Sleeping In every day.. my dad is retired now in his mid 60s, and hasn’t set an alarm clock in years.. Life goals , i tell ya .
