Are you the kind of parent who does it big with gifts and candy? Or do you just stick to a basket filled with candy?

I grew up in a "basket with candy" house but I have friend who treats Easter like it's Christmas part 2.

People who give easter gifts are the same losers who also give their wives "push presents."

What is a "push present" if you don't mind me asking?

If it is what I am thinking, the facebook crowd requires expensive gifts when they push out a kid.

We always got small gifts. Like some DVDs or maybe like $20. This year might be the nicest easter gift I've ever gotten from my parents. Brother and I both got hockey jerseys.

My parents did candy and a small gift. I remember getting a few movies or a shirt or something growing up. Like a $10-20 gift. I think that's fine, but the people that go Christmas part deaux are ridiculous.

The wife and I have ritualized sex to honor the gods of fertility, but we don't really do anything for the kids.

Basically giving your wife something for her birthing the child...

I don't do push gift, but I give one Easter gift with basket. Noting more than $20.

Growing up, we had like a big basket with candy and maybe a gift card and playstation game or something.

No kids, but I imagine that's where I'll fall. Not mini Christmas, just one or two things beyond candy and stuffed animals

We give gifts with very little candy. The gifts we give are always something they need. Clothes, shoes, swimsuits and so on.

We like to reenact the crucifixion with festive games for the kids. We start off with a Easter-themed spin on a pinata where the kids all take turns lashing a Jesus mannequin filled with candy. Then we do a variation on pin the tail on the donkey where the kids have to nail Jesus to the cross blindfolded. We finish off with a javelin throw and whichever kid gets closest to the bulls-eye in Jesus' side gets the "thirty pieces of silver" as a prize (it's actually dollar coins).

The whole thing is a real hoot for the kids.

I grew up with a basket of candy & maybe a small gift, like a stuffed animal.

BF’s daughter ends up with an over the top Easter (and every other holiday). Product of being the only child & grandchild of divorced parents. She gets a basket from us with several (small) gifts, a basket from her grandparents with at least 2 Nintendo Switch games, a basket from her aunt & uncle with gifts, and whatever her mom does. Plus a minimum of 3 Easter egg hunts with filled eggs. It’s out of control.
