Thats Irish Bayou. Venetian Isles is along 90 by Chef Pass; its only about a dozen streets.

To the OP - It is normally a safe place where everybody knows everybody. But crime does happen out here sometimes.

I am more curious about the type of area. Im pretty sure it is close to the 9th, that was more of a confirmation question.

That area by the ratty video poker casino is most definitely not safe. Lots of drugs in that area and those people fly down Chef

It is technically a part of the 9th ward, but 15 miles from the "lower 9th ward" and 10 miles from the main part of New Orleans East. It is a suburban fishing neighborhood, mainly custom homes 15-40 years old, with saltwater access canals in almost every backyard. But that's all there is. The bar and restaraunt closed; there is no grocery, hardware store, etc. Its kinda far out from New Orleans proper and most of the residents prefer that.

That is still New Orleans East, not Venetian Isles.

Venetian Isles is not close to the 9th Ward. It's about as far east of the 9th, as Kenner is west of the 9th Ward.
Google Ft Maccomb.
It's houses on canals out in the marsh. Technically New Orleans, I think, but definitely not "the city".

Oh yeah - I have plenty of friends down there

I’m not afraid of chef menteur but if you are unaware of your surroundings - things can happen - but that’s true of St Charles Ave as well

Why do you care about this? Are you planning to visit. Maybe OWL can meet you there for your beatdown?

Technically Venetian Isles is a small area near Chef Pass that is outside of the levee system. Every house is on a canal, thus, the "Venetian" name.

But a lot of people refer to the entire area along Chef between 510 and Chef Pass as Venetian Isles because the actual Venetian Isles is very Vietnamese, and so is the rest of that area.

For example, Dong Phoung is considered by many to be in "Venetian Isles" but it's technically not.

The actual subdivision is ok. The entire area along 90 between basically I-10 curve and Chef Pass is pretty sketchy especially at night.
