You didn't want the DAK version? Mine's an LEM and I love the setup.

I just don't believe that the medical profession should be prying into the personal lives of their patients.

Well if it's a pregnant woman...her doctor is gonna want to know about any situations that could put the baby at risk, she has a responsibility to help protect her patient and the unborn child. If the women is being hit by her spouse...that's a def risk to the pregnancy and her patient. It's not like the doctor is gonna call the cops if she says her husband hits her. But she will offer available resources to her patient(ex: numbers to shelters, etc) and offer help if the woman wants it. For women that are actually abused...they may be in such a controlled environment by their spouse...the doctor may be the ONLY way she has a way to seek help without raising suspicion of her abusive partner. Don't take it personally, just think of it as a good thing for the women that really do need it. Like it was posted....it happens WAY more than you think and happens in rich and poor families.

This might be the stupidest excuse I've hear for the "racking the shotgun" argument. At this point, it doesn't matter one way or the other whether you racked the shotgun. If you "take the intruder's life," who is going to testify that you racked the gun? He certainly isn't going to get on the stand and testify that he heard someone rack a shotgun but proceeded attempt to rob you anyway.

I don't want to do anything to tip my hand or give up the element of surprise. If you are in my house at night I am in fear for my life, that means the first noise you will hear is a gun shot.

To answer the OP, 870 12 ga & Smith model 29 .44 mag beside my bed. Smith .38 in my Wife's night stand.

Kimber Ultra CDP 2 with Wilson Combat mags and either Speer 230gr Personal Defense Short Barrel loads or Corbon 165gr and 185gr +P's. Whichever is on hand.

I offered bapple mine to do a video review. I think if he shot it, he'd have a new favorite too.

I have money waiting for the p320 in .45 to be released. Sig's site still says "coming soon"

I was the victim of an armed robbery when I was young, and I lived through it. My buddy's mom wasn't so lucky... They shot her in the head while she was tied up in her bedroom. She lived in a very nice neighborhood in a town with very low crime rates.

My wife woke up in her bed with a man on top of her with a blade at her throat. She grabbed the knife by the blade and wrestled it away - guy was too shocked to believe it and ran away. She has some good scars to remember it by - mental and physical.

A buddy of mine's parents were kidnapped out of their home while watching TV by an armed robbery perp that was being chased by the police. They were both murdered in their car and burned. The guy was caught at least and is on DR at Angola.

Yes, those were right here in good ole BTR.
