You should talk to my allergist then, I'm sure he'll be glad to have an esteemed doctor like yourself on a consult.

If your insurance will cover it, should look into dymista. It's a combo spray with flonase/azelastine spray. Saves the hassle of two different sprays.

I'll mention that to my Dr. Thanks for the heads up.

Claritin D.

And they've been running coupons lately, $8 off but you have to buy within the week. (Hint: have your SO and you alternate buying each week, you never hit the 30 day limit if you do that)

Afrin/oxymetazoline/phenylephrine/Vicks etc sprays are the decogestant/vasoconstrictive meds that you should avoid prolonged use. They are the "addictive" sprays as they cause the rebound congestion.

My primary care doctor gave me the same advice to avoid those type of sprays. He told me he had seen patient who had been using Afrin every 2 hours for a few weeks and the spray destroyed his entire septum.

I use zyrtec, flonase, azelastine and Neti pot every day in the spring, with sudafed as necessary.

Generic Chlor-Trimeton. Had a pharmacist recommend it to me. Keep a bottle at home and 1 in the vehicle. Very cheap and nothing works faster or better. 100count bottle for $3.00 at walmart.

XYZAL tablet before bed.

Also before bed, two squirts in each nostril of the following:

Azelastine HCI Nasal Spray

Comolyn Sodium Nasal Solution UPS Spray

Good Sense Nasal Allergy Spray

All were prescribed about a year ago by my allergy doctor and I have not had any problems since. And I used to get down in bed every fall and spring.

Another good option is Ocean saline solution, a shot in the morning. If you have a sore throat, add some antibiotic to the Ocean spray.

You're welcome.

Knocks me out I only take at night. Leaves me with a foggy hangover after a couple of nights though.

You’re thinking of afrin, a vasoconstrictor. Azelastine is an antihistamine spray.
