When gas prices plus my current note exceed the monthly note and electricity cost of an electric vehicle. If I didn’t have a note right now then I would care much much less.

Gas hitting people’s breaking point 1 will kill the economy.
A lot of people forget that average gas prices were above $5.00 (adjusted for inflation) and diesel was above $6.00 for a year in 2007-2008 and that greatly contributed to the economic collapse that we commonly refer to as the housing bubble.
Individuals, families and businesses will do whatever they can to maintain the status quo for a while but eventually the band aid gets ripped off.

Yup. Oil degrades and absorbs water over time in your engine. Just like brake fluid. Change your oil 1x per year. Brake fluid every 5 years or you take the easy ghetto way and change some out every year from the reservoir with a turkey baster.

I haven't driven any more than I have to in months. The only other thing I can do is sleep at work.

I get that gas prices are high but just how big a piece of your budget is fuel? awful lot of bitching on here about it but I don't see it as that big of a deal
I drive around 400 miles per week just going to work and back. Yeah its expensive and it sucks but it ain't gonna break me. If you can't feed your kids because of your gas bill you're doing something wrong.

Filled up my boat this morning 250 gallons at 6.13 a gallon = 1533.40. Insane price which means I’ll just make short trips this summer. No Grand Isle/Venice/Offshore trips.

There isn't a single commodity that isn't impacted by energy costs. Gas prices affect the cost of everything.

Just paid $4/gallon for gas
$4/gallon? shite, the cheapest near me is $4.29/gallon, and I'm not going to that part of town. So......$4.35/gallon it is.
My regular place hit $4.49/gallon today.

For my wife (no pics) we are pretty damn close right now. She’s at $100 every 5 days in her armada, with running the kids to all their shite we are considering ditching the SUV and getting her a sedan. It’s starting to suck paying these gas prices while paying a note (not OT rich)
For me, it’s just under 30 miles each way to and from my office, and mine is paid off. It would have to be 7/8 dollars for me to consider a change.

all I said is that I don't see it as having a huge impact on my household budget, but seeing as I invested in quite a bit of oil stocks a couple of years ago when prices were near the crapper I'm kind of enjoying that end of it, two of the companies that I bought stock in are up around 500% returns right now

Breaking point is zero fricks. Still have to exist and pay whatever price it is. Not like people can just shite down.

I told my wife if $6 here happens, then she gets a Range Rover. For God's sake....please drop.

Paid $6.49 today. Haven’t really thought about at what point I curb some unnecessary driving

I have pretty decent positions in XOM and CVX. They aren't up that much though.

The fact that this bullshite is basically self-inflicted, and unnecessary, as a result of bumbling idiots in charge with a green agenda is the real kicker.
